For information -

Public Participation Meeting

Roads & Parking - Ward 4 - Clarkston, Netherlee, Busby, Stamperland, Williamwood

Monday 28th August - Duff Memorial Hall, Busby - 7pm

Wednesday 30th August - Netherlee Pavillion - 7pm

As one of your local councillors for Ward 4, I very much want to hear direct from local residents as much as I possibly can. Come along to my open public meetings and let me know your concerns, issues and ideas regarding our local roads and local parking

Councillor Annette Ireland

I hear they are going to put in a cycle lane up to Clarkston Toll from Stamperland and to the main road and onto Mearns Road. The road is narrow enough just now, never mind a cycle lane. I think that will be dangerous for cyclists as well.

News to me, I normally get wind of these in advance.

There is a consultation going on at the moment on how to improve the roads for everyone in the area at the moment.

EAST RENFREWSHIRE COUNCIL CABINET 15 March 2018

Agenda Item No: 10

Report by Director of Environment
ROADS CONDITION INDICATOR FOR 2016 & 17 and CURRENT MAINTENANCE BACKLOG FIGURE and STEADY STATE BUDGET FIGURE

Agenda Item No: 11

Report by Director of Environment - ROADS REVENUE WORKS PROGRAMME 2018/19

One of the conclusions -

24. However, the major issue facing the Council is the backlog figure of £22.2 million which is for carriageways alone.
Clearly, simply adding anything up to £22.2 million to the Council’s General Fund Capital Plan (assuming the majority of those repairs could be classified as capital) over the next few years is not a simple or straightforward solution.
This level of capital and revenue expenditure would require a further investment of around £2.78 million over and above existing expenditure levels for around 8 years.

25.To maintain just a steady state in road condition would require a minimum spend of £2.5million per annum.
