Taken from -

ERC Indoor sports facilities strategy 2018 - 2028 - April 2018 Presented to Cabinet August 2018

Not sure about the current and future finance for this ??

Parklands

4 court sports hall and changing rooms rated below average in quality.

+++ Owned and maintained by East Renfrewshire Council(ERC) ++++

--- The Country Club operates the facility and retains the income ---

Recommended Actions -

Investigate how this facility sits within a wider ERCLT offer.

Following this consider specific improvements to fit with wider strategic objectives.

Improve the quality of the sports hall and changing rooms.

Subject : Freedom of Information Request - ERC and arrangement with Parklands Country Club

Hi

Please see below.

As Cllr Lafferty declines to help his constituents, I now submit the questions asked to Cllr Lafferty below, as a Freedom of Information Request to the appropriate ERC Official.

Thanks

It appears that the family that own Parklands were given permission to build provided that they had a facility for 'non members'.

They then allowed 'non members' in through the back door, literally a reception desk was placed at the rear entrance to Parklands.

Full members enter through the front door, non members go through the back entrance.

It would appear that the only facility non members can use, but still require to pay for, are the four badminton courts.

As stated ERC pay for the upkeep and Parklands take and keep the full amount of the public's fees to use the courts.

Is it only ERC that could work out this sort of deal?

No, Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it.

For accuracy, from memory I think Parklands is now in the hands of it's third owners since this deal was struck with the council.
