Has the case been made for a 6 lane 50m Swimming Pool ?

Is the cost justified?

Why will a 6 lane 25m Swimming Pool not be adequate?

Do the Trust have 'inside knowledge' of the Masterplan and that the Theatre has a future in its current state/location?

Published Newton Mearns, Clarkston & Busby Community Magazine -

September 2020

EASTWOOD PARK THEATRE REVAMP

The curtains may be closed on stage at Eastwood Park Theatre for the moment but work has been progressing behind the scenes to give the space a revamp.

The theatre has been painted, while carpets and chair coverings have also been upgraded...................

Just for interest - This was found on line -

Craig Paton Illustrations

East Renfrewshire Culture & Leisure

The East Renfrewshire Council is a council authority just outside of Glasgow, it includes the areas Barrhead, Clarkston and Newton-Mearns.

I was commissioned by them in early 2017, to create illustrations depicting proposed community building projects and renovations.

This would include illustrations of the buildings exterior presentation and interior plans.

Two of the buildings do not yet exist and had to be drawn from imagination (The Dunterlie Community Hub and The Eastwood Leisure Centre).

The remaining two were buildings already exist but would undergo significant renovation (The Eastwood Park Theatre and The Fairweather Community Hub).

Rather than drawing in a formal architectural style, I created these illustrations with a loose, sketchy style. After a few thumbnail sketches and mock-ups to iron out the designs, I drew and coloured the final artwork in Adobe Photoshop.

I’ve yet to receive work as to whether these illustrations will actually be made into the buildings they depict.

This is a text transcript of the document.

Unfortunately a technical glitch means I cannot post the full document with pictures/diagrams on the site.

Hopefully the text will give an idea of what the working group are proposing?
