Geddes wrote -
Cllr Macdonald asked twice in two separate debates whether members of the Quango would be paid. TWICE he asked , only to be informed that the report (which he might be expected to have read) stated in black and white that they would not be paid.

When asked the reasons for asking the questions, Cllr MacDonald replied -

'The reason why I asked these questions during the council meeting was to find out if the proposed committee and group of Education officers were to be paid anything in addition to their present salaries/allowances for taking part as I feel that it is important that people know how much the now approved local education group body is costing the tax payer. '
