The head man does not know how the fees work

We inadvertently omitted to inform Mr McReavy that he was not in a position to charge VAT on this kind of material through FOI.

Thank you for your email.

Whether VAT should be charged on a FOI request depends on whether the information is only available from the public authority.

Therefore, if the information requested can only be accessed via the Council then VAT should not be charged.

Conversely, if the information is available from elsewhere, then VAT can be added to the fees.

We understand this to be the position regardless of the fee charged.

We incorrectly thought that this email indicated that the documents would be posted on 18th June 2018.

However it would appear that after a few chasers (25 & 26), they are not being posted until today 27th June 2018.
