If I were to give my views and comment to every individual constituent on every council issue in this council ward, I wouldn't have time to help anyone

I am under no obligation to pass on my views and I think it's unfair to ask but as a courtesy, I will comment on this issue alone

Council Standing Orders state that any Cllr can speak for a maximum of five minutes on each item on the agenda. Cllr MacDonald informed me yesterday that he spoke for 7 minutes 50 seconds therefore the Provost was wrong as, according to Standing Orders, he should have been shut down earlier

And Clkr Devlin was bang out of order when he interrupted Cllr MacDonald

In the case of Cllr Swift, I am quite sure the Provost didn't give him his entitled 5 minutes therefore, once again, in accordance with Standing Orders, the Provost was in error

Regards

Stewart

Good Morning,

As always i hope that you guys are well.

Could you oblige and please send me all recorded information in connection with elected members protocol within the council chamber, whether it be Standing Orders, advice etc. I am particularly interested in recorded information concerning the length of time councillors can speak at any given time.

I would suggest that your Mr Daly would hold this material.
I would like the information provided as electronic copies.

I understand that it is my right to receive your response within 20 working days of receipt of this request.

Kind Regards

Daniel Devlin said

Provost, Provost

Is there a time limit?

At this point the Provost then informed Cllr Macdonald to stop speaking.......
