Subject : Re: Council Meeting - 12 September 2018 - Behaviour of Chairperson
If I were to give my views and comment to every individual constituent on every council issue in this council ward, I wouldn't have time to help anyone
I am under no obligation to pass on my views and I think it's unfair to ask but as a courtesy, I will comment on this issue alone
Council Standing Orders state that any Cllr can speak for a maximum of five minutes on each item on the agenda. Cllr MacDonald informed me yesterday that he spoke for 7 minutes 50 seconds therefore the Provost was wrong as, according to Standing Orders, he should have been shut down earlier
And Clkr Devlin was bang out of order when he interrupted Cllr MacDonald
In the case of Cllr Swift, I am quite sure the Provost didn't give him his entitled 5 minutes therefore, once again, in accordance with Standing Orders, the Provost was in error
Regards
Stewart
