Clarkston Library is OPEN MORE

I am delighted to tell you about an exciting new service at Clarkston library starting in June 2019.

We are launching Open More – a pilot project and the first in Scotland to allow customers access to Clarkston library at times when library staff are not present.

Open More will allow us to extend our opening hours to 10pm Monday to Friday and to 6pm on a Saturday while still retaining the same staffed library hours that we currently offer.

Following a short introductory welcome session you will be able to get into the library when staff are not there by presenting your card to the reader at the door and entering your PIN.

Once you are in the library you’ll be able to do most of the things you can normally do such as borrow and return books, use the PCs and WiFi or simply read, browse and study.

We are running introductory and welcome sessions each Monday and Wednesday evening in Clarkston library from 6pm – 8pm for the next 6 weeks.

These short sessions will allow staff to show you how to use the door entry system, how to use the self-service kiosks, how to log onto the PCs and explain a bit more what you can and can’t do when you are in the library.

We’ll tell you what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency and also take you through the steps for making sure you leave before the security alarm is set.

So if you find the current opening hours don’t suit you, or you like the idea of using the library when it is quiet then please book your welcome slot by following this link:
