We have long been campaigning for residents / visitors to the council chamber to be permitted to audio record the proceeding of Full Council.
We were required to request permission before each and every meeting, despite offering to apply for longer periods and covering more meetings, which was denied by Eamonn Daly, the Clerk to the Council.
However last week the council, at the behest of the Provost agreed that there would no longer be a requirement for anyone to seek permission to sound record Full Council meetings.
Permission has now been granted and as such any visitor to the public gallery can record audio.
