Subject: RE: Police Scotland have invited all councillors to comment on their draft Local Policing Plan 2020-2023
Thank you for forwarding Cllr McDonald’s post.
I do not look at his Facebook page, so I had not seen this.
The closing date for public submissions to Police Scotland on East Renfrewshire’s Local Policing Plan was the 31st December 2019.
The prepared Draft Plan will go to the Police and Fire Cabinet on the 13th February, a meeting I will make sure and attend tomorrow.
A copy of the Agenda be found here:
www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=25904&p=0
Please be assured that I am in close liaison with our local police and warden’s service on a regular basis with regard to our local area and I will also be attending the next Ward 4 meeting with Police Scotland in the coming weeks.
This is an important meeting and one which I have always attended and fed my views / comments into and will continue to do so at the next meeting.
In addition, I attend police briefings, the most recent of which was a presentation and discussion session on Police Scotland’s new contact assessment model in October.
Unfortunately, both Ward meetings, Police & Fire Cabinet meetings and presentations are not attended by Cllr Mcdonald although I hope that he manages to make it along to the next Ward meeting.
With specific regard to Busby, the recent instances of graffiti are part of an ongoing active police investigation with a positive line of enquiry.
Further to my contacting them, local police have also confirmed that the local Problem Solving Team will pay extra attention to Busby.
Regards
Cllr Annette Ireland (SNP)
