At todays Planning Application Committee meeting Councillor Miller, a member of the Committee, said.

"I am told, only in the last 20 minutes, that the unit at 37 Busby Road has been sold yet again and there will be a planning application to knock it down and build shops".

"Which I thought was pretty pointless."

There was a recent application to the Planning Application Committee (PAC) to demolish the building and erect four shop units, which the PAC refused.

There was an appeal to the reporter and the reporter upheld the decision to refuse, on the grounds that the proposed construction would not be in keeping with the surrounding area buildings. ie the proposal was for a somewhat pre fabricated type.

The reporter apparently did not uphold any other of the PAC's objections.

The comments relate to the former station masters house on Busby Road, Clarkston.

Newsline would have to suggest that due to Cllr Millers comment, if an application comes forward regarding the property, he should be excluded from the Committee for that matter.

You can hear Stewart Millers comments at 11 minutes until 11.22 minutes.

Presume Cllr Miller is saying that in the last 20 minutes he only learned about

'and there will be a planning application to knock it down and build shops".'

as he knew the house had been sold on 4 February ?
