Subject: CABINET Meeting 21 October 2021 Agenda Item 3 - Garden Waste Scheme Shortfall

Hi Alan

CABINET Meeting 21 October 2021 Agenda Item 3 - Garden Waste Scheme Shortfall

Would appreciate if you would ask some questions at the meeting regarding the Brown Bin Garden Waste Collection Scheme shortfall of £130K highlighted in the report

- Number of participant households in the scheme

- Reasons why it has not generated its target income

- The effect the shortfall will have on the three new operational posts and one administrative post created and also on purchase of new vehicle

- Will this shortfall lead to an increase on the current £40 fee.

Extract from report -

From the recording you can see that Cllr Alan Lafferty (and indeed the other Councillors)did not bother to raise the matter and/or query the Brown Bin Garden Waste Collection Scheme shortfall of £130K highlighted in the report.

They did not seek any answers or information regarding the £130K shortfall

- Number of participant households in the scheme

- Reasons why it has not generated its target income

- The effect the shortfall will have on the three new operational posts and one administrative post created and also on purchase of new vehicle

- Will this shortfall lead to an increase on the current £40 fee.

Cllr lafferty is Convener for Environment. You would think he would want to know this information.
