The first of 10,400 new trees were planted today, as part of a COP26 legacy project in East Renfrewshire 🌳
26 woods will be planted in the coming months to support the Council's climate change ambitions.

Really good to observe the planting of trees, however many are dismayed at the number of healthy trees that have been destroyed by ERC or under their direction over recent years.

We feel that it also important to note that it has long been highlighted that the production and over consumption of meat is also a cause of climate change.

We should also be aware that Cllr Annette Ireland put forward a council motion which was passed, that ERC declare a Climate Emergency.

It is so good to observe that she is leading by example.
