In order to establish a Community Council there requires to be the following number of Community Councillors.

Barrhead 10
Busby 7
Clarkston 9
Eaglesham & Waterfoot 7
Giffnock 7
Neilston 8
Netherlee & Stamperland 9
Newton Mearns 10
Thornliebank 7
Uplawmoor 5

Therefore at this stage and with only 14 days to go, only one Community Council will be in a position to form out of 10. (Busby)

So just what is the problem as we have had all 10 community councils apparently working well, over the last four years.

What could possibly have gone wrong, why will established and long serving community councilors not put their names forward as candidates?

WE would hope to provide answers to these and many more questions regarding this topic in future postings.

IN charge is the Community Planning Team which forms part of the Community Engagement Team etc etc.

The Head of Department is a well known figure to regular readers of this site.
