can I ask, Why does it need to be a wall? Why does growing veg etc need to be shielded from view?

It's to shield the public from the possibility of Cllr. Waters becoming overexposed were he to do some work which might involve a bending action. Seems highly necessary once you get the bigger picture. It might be prudent for them to also install an onsite defibrillator.

At yesterdays cabinet meeting they accepted the recommendations of the A & S committee.

ERC will not knock down the wall.

However it would appear that Leader Fletcher has another cunning plan to shield the resident from the sight of growing veg.

Phil Daws, a manager at ERC has already met with the management at ENAA and had discussions.

ENAA are not yet happy with ERC's request but Fletcher says that he is confident that they will come round.

Fletcher has asked that they move the container away from the entrance to another part of the allotment and plant leylandii or similar to scree the growing food.

He said that he was sure that ERC would be in a position to assist with a grant for that purpose.

Meanwhile Cllr Waters was not at the meeting and no reason was given for his absence.

In the interim Cllr Waters posted this on Facebook and Twitter. Murky and murkier....

Councillor Fletcher hasn't considered that the roots from leylandii will grow under the wall and wreck it.

Another grant?? Is he mad? Either ENAA have money to function or they should be stripped of the right to do so.
